Early in morning we hit the road for the capital city of Australia, Canberra, for a day full of meetings and then fly two more hours up to Brisbane for meetings on Friday. I'm looking forward to going up north because it is in the 70s. It stays in the 50s around here.
Canberra is interesting because like Washington, D.C. it is a planned city. Melbourne used to be a the capital but in a compromise due to the rivalry with Sydney, the city was moved halfway between the two in Canberra. I think it is amusing that architects from Chicago planned the city. I'll just be there for meeting during the day, but I'll take as many pictures as I can.
After the meetings on Friday I'm going to hang around Brisbane for the weekend and see what there is to do up there. I know for sure that I'm going to check out the local Koala sanctuary. I've been told you can hand feed the kangaroos there. This might finally be my chance for my much touted Marsupial battle. Stay tuned...
