Apparently Honolulu is a very gun friendly place. I've noticed an abundance of indoor shooting ranges and gun clubs in Wakiki as I've walked down the main strip. As displayed in picture above, there are people lining the streets handing out fliers in an effort to entice tourists into their establishments.
It never occurred to me that people would fly thousands of miles to this Pacific paradise and feel the urge to bust a cap to blow off some steam. The oddest thing about it is that the ranges are right next to places like Macy's and the Cheesecake Factory.
On a personal note, a guy tried to pick pocket me while I was catching the last few minutes of the Celtics-Lakers game at an outside bar last night. Fortunately, some other guys noticed what was going on and helped get the guy out of the bar. I guess that guy didn't know I recently learned communication and conflict resolution skills at the Clinton School.
